The parent consultative group is the organisation that represents all parents at the campus. In the establishment of the Freshwater Senior Campus in 2002, the parent forum unanimously supported the proposal that parents be asked to pay both school and subject contributions. They also supported the view that parents should pay these contributions wherever they were able to.
School contributions are allocated to costs associated with providing additional programs or resources for the students. These additional programs and resources could not be provided from the funding received from the NSW Department of Education. They provide the students with opportunities to gain invaluable experiences in their learning programs that give them an edge for the future.
Subject contributions provide funds to replace consumable resources, many of which are very expensive, associated with running the extensive range of courses available at our campus.
The level of contributions sought from parents is reviewed each year by the parent forum.
There are some costs associated with going to school that you may find it helpful to plan and budget for.
Costs to consider include:
uniforms
school books and equipment
excursions
- co-curricular activities.
Voluntary school contributions
Like all NSW public schools, we can request contributions to enhance our educational and sporting programs including elective subjects. School contributions help provide additional educational resources for the benefit of students. Payment is voluntary.
For more information, visit theĀ Voluntary School Contribution policy.
Financial assistance
If you are unable to pay school contributions because of financial hardship, you may be eligible for assistance from the school.
Our principal will ensure no student or family suffers any discrimination or embarrassment over the inability to pay school contributions.
